Program Summary:

In this training you can learn to create and run a successful DBT® team and problem solving common programmatic issues. Having a team is an essential component of DBT® practice and is necessary for an adherent program. Also learn and discuss common programmatic concerns and how to problem solve them. Attendees will be able to present team dilemmas and learn strategies for finding a dialectical synthesis. Furthermore, attendees will learn how to use the strategies to supervise their team or other professionals within the DBT® framework.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will be able to identify and apply the DBT strategies that would carry over from the client-therapist relationship into the supervisee-supervisor relationship.
  • Participants will be able to practice applying chain analysis techniques with supervisees.
  • Participants will be able to analyze the concept of dialectics with trainers.
  • Participants will be able to apply and use the treatment hierarchy to structure your supervision.

Audience & Skill Level: Advanced

This session is designed to for mental health clinicians (Counselors, Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists and related professions) who have understanding and experience with this topic. Advanced sessions are focused on complexities of concepts and evaluating/synthesizing concepts for practitioners.

Charity Chaney

LPCC-S

Charity Chaney is a professional counselor in the state of Ohio and the lead therapist of Mindfully’s DBT team. Charity also leads DBT skills classes where she helps groups apply DBT principles and learn new skills.

Gregory Pratt

MSW, LISW-S (OH), LCSW (CO)

Gregory Pratt, MSW, LISW-S, LCSW, has worked in the Mental Health Field in the Greater Cincinnati area for over fifteen years. He graduated from Thomas More College with a BA in Psychology and from the University of Kentucky with a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW). He has worked with individuals and families struggling with a wide range of concerns and specific needs, including individuals with both mental health and substance use struggles. Gregory’s clinical approach is a combination of Client Centered and Strength Based approaches utilizing Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral techniques. Gregory has experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and is working on certification in Radically Open DBT.

Ohio CSWMFT Approval 

This training is approved for counselor, social work, and marriage and family therapy continuing education.In addition, it is approved by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Board for chemical dependency continuing education. Check CE Broker for detailed breakdown of CE types (provider number50-24074). 


ASWB ACE Approval 

Mindfully (ACEP provider #1862), is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 6/27/2024 – 6/27/2027. Social workers completing this course receive 3 clinical continuing education credits.
