Program Summary:

The Culturally Competent Care for the Latinx Community training is designed to deepen understanding of the cultural values, demographic trends, and systemic barriers that shape the experiences of Latinx/Latine individuals in Ohio and beyond. This interactive session will explore the social, cultural, and economic contributions of the Latinx community, while addressing the challenges created by stereotypes, discrimination, and inequitable access to healthcare and social services.

Participants will examine cultural identity development, immigration pathways, language access issues, and stigma surrounding mental health. They will also practice strategies rooted in cultural humility and responsiveness to create workplaces and client environments that foster belonging, inclusion, and equity.
